Miss Philippines, Bea Rose Santiago (23, from Masbate City), scored another Grand Slam title for her country by bagging the Miss International crown during the 53rd edition of the pageant held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo on December 17th. Global Beauties 

Reina Hispanoamericana 2013

Miss Colombia, Maria Alejandra Lopez, was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana (Hispano-American Queen) 2013 during the annual event held at the Ventura Mall in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on December 13th.

The 2nd place (“Virreina”) went to Miss Dominican Republic, Yaritza Reyes; while Venezuela (Gabriela Graff) and Chile (Maria Jose Barrena) finished in 3rd and 4th places respectively.

Mexico, Puerto Rico, Paraguay and Bolivia completed the Top 8 finalists.  23 contestants competed in the pageant organized by Promociones Gloria.

Miss Netherlands 2014

Amsterdam hosted the Miss Netherlards 2014 competition, in which the Dutch representatives for Miss World and Miss Universe in 2014 were crowned.

Tatjana Maul, 25 (left), is Miss World Netherlands 2014. She will represent her country in Miss World 2014, in London, England.

Yasmin Verheijen, 19 (right), will travel to Fortaleza, Brazil, where she will compete in Miss Universe 2014.

Although its winner no longer competes in any international beauty contest, Miss Italia remains the most traditional and best loved beauty competition in Italy. The 2013 edition was recently concluded with the victory of Giulia Arena, 19, from Messina. It was the first time that the revamped show was telecast by La7, instead of RAI. Pageant organizers celebrated its high ratings and the tv has confirmed Miss Italia will be again be telecast by it next year.

The new Miss Italia is the 10th winner from Sicily. She’s 19 years old and will soon start attending Milan’s Catholic University.

Miss Universe Olivia Culpo to be on India tour

Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo is all set for her debut India tour, starting today. 

The 21-year-old American model, who will be in India for 10 days, will promote and propagate issues like celebrating girl child, women empowerment and AIDS awareness in various states of India. 

The brunette beauty will start her journey tomorrow from the Capital followed by her visit to the Taj Mahal and Mumbai. She will also visit Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan to talk about eradication of female foeticide. 

Her tour has been supported by Salman Khan, Manisha Koirala, Sohail Khan, Sajid-Wajid and Usha Uthup among others. 

The awareness tour was initiated by Sanjana Jon in 2004 with the then Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins. 

Culpo, who was crowned Miss Universe 2012 in Las Vegas, has brought the title back to the US after a decade. Brooke Lee was the last winner in 1997.

Miss Supranational Curacao Pregnant

When Miss Curaçao paraded in swimsuit on Wednesday night, many people were shocked with her prominent belly. Today, members of Miss Supranational staff convinced her to take a pregnancy test, and the result was positive.

At first, 19 year-old Miss Curaçao was shocked and sad (she did not know it), but after receiving much support from Miss Supranational’s staff members, she felt better and decided to go back home to take care of herself and her baby.

She will return to Curaçao tomorrow. We wish Miss Curaçao and her baby all the best! (Global Beauties)

The Cast Of Miss World 2013

After a stunning performance at Miss World 2012, Myleene Klass will be returning to the Miss World stage to host the 63rd Miss World Final in Indonesia next Month! After a successful performance together at Mr World 2013, Myleene will be joined on stage by Kamal Ibrahim, (Mr World 2010) who is now developing into a fine television presenter.

With Myleene and Kamal presenting the final on the 28th of September, we also have three intrepid reporters joining us throughout September to detail all the activities through the Miss World competition Month. Jennifer Reoch (Scotland 2011), Gwendoline Ruais (Philippines 2011) and Francisco Escobar (Mr World 2013) will be following the action as it happens, delivering regular episodes from behind the scenes of the competition; interviewing contestants, showcasing challenge events and providing a running commentary in the build up to the grand final.

All three have been there before and will be able to provide incisive analysis of what the contestants are going through, and what they can expect to face in each challenge. New this year, this team will provide greater depth to our coverage of the competition never before seen at Miss World.

Gwendoline Ruais, 23 Former Miss Philippines & TV Presenter 23 year old Gwendoline represented the Philippines at Miss World 2011 where she came in second place. A confident and driven individual, Gwendoline has gone on to take the Philippines media by storm, receiving offers to work on a variety of hugely popular prime time television shows (Unang Hirit, Party Pilipinas). Currently working on a brand new show, Gwendoline will be taking a month out of her hectic schedule to be a part of the Miss World 2013 reporting team.

Jennifer Reoch, 23 Former Miss Scotland & TV Presenter Jennifer placed 7th at Miss World 2011 representing the nation of Scotland. A Law graduate, Jennifer has raised thousands of pounds for charity whilst pursuing her dream career in the media industry. After presenting roles at the Miss Scotland Finals and co-host of Mr England 2013, Jennifer will now take on the global stage,  teaming up with fellow Miss World Alumni Gwendoline Ruais presenting behind the scenes from Miss World 2013!  Jennifer is thrilled to be working with the Miss World organisation during the competition in Indonesia and is looking forward to continuing to improve her presenting skills.

Francisco Escobar, 22 Mr World & Athlete 22 year old Francisco is a competitive athlete as well as a strong academic, able to maintain a 4.0 grade average whilst also competing at a national & international level in the pole vault. Since winning Mr World, Francisco has excelled, adapting to his status with ease. He has been inducted as a Beauty with a Purpose Ambassador, the charity arm of the Miss World Organisation. In this new role Francisco worked as part of the Variety Telethon Celebrity team in Iowa, USA. This hugely popular televised show saw Francisco fulfilling many roles, including guest presenting a segment of the show and taking pledges and donations from the watching audience. Comfortable in front of the camera, Francisco will continue to develop his television skills this year as part of the Miss World 2013 reporting team.

After a long time, Japan now has an exclusive event for Miss World. Up to last year, Miss World Japan was the 1st runner-up to Miss International Japan. The new pageant took place on June 29, and the winner was Michiko Tanaka, 23, 1.71m-tall. She will represent Japan in Miss World 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28 (GB)

Maria-Anna Weiling Zenieris, 18, was crowned Miss World Singapore 2013, at the Pan Pacific Hotel, on July 28. She will represent Singapore in Miss World 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28. Elizabeth Houghton was the first runner-up and Rachel Leng was the second runner-up.




Julie Lebrasseur, 19, 1.82 m-tall, is the winner of Martinique Queens 2013, grabing the sash and crown of Miss World Martinique. Alexandra Marie Backström, a Creative Studies student at the University of Oslo, was chosen from a casting call which took place in Oslo to represent Norway in Miss World 2013, on September 28, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Miss World Korea 2013

Min-ji Park, second runner-up of Miss World Korea 2011, was appointed as Miss World Korea 2013 by Jungah Park, national director of Miss World in South Korea. She will represent her country in Miss World 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28.

Miss Supranational Myanmar 2013

Khin Wint Wah, a 19-year old student of Botany, was chosen Miss Supranational Myanmar 2013 and will represent Myanmar at the 2013 Miss Supranational finals to be held in Minsk, Belarus, September 6th.

The Paraguayan representatives for Miss Universe, Miss World, and other international pageants, were chosen last night in the city of Asuncion.

Miss Paraguay for Miss Universe is María Guadalupe González Talavera, 21, 1.78 m-tall, from Lambare. She will compete in Miss Universe 2013, in Moscow, Russia, on November 9.

Miss Paraguay for Miss World is Coral Ruiz Reyes, 22, 1.75 m-tall, from Asuncion. She will now get ready to compete in Miss World 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28.

Martha Raviolo is Miss Paraguay International 2013 and Laura Garcete is Miss Paraguay United Continent 2013.

The event was once again organized by Promociones Gloria, the same producer of Miss Bolivia and Hispano-American Queen contests. (Global beauties)

Hot News On Month June

Korinna Koksis, considered by many the favorite to win the Miss Hungary 2013 title, finished in 3rd place on the contest, but did not accept the crown and title of Miss Hungary Intercontinental 2013. It happened during the live telecast the national pageant held in Budapest. Minutes later, she published on her Facebook page that she did not accept the results because she already knew she would not be placed as one of the two winners (going to Miss World and Miss Universe).

Miss Supranational Panama 2013

Yinnela Yohan Yero Torres, a 23-year old TV presenter and model, was crowned Miss Supranational Panama 2013during a cocktail ceremony held at the Hard Rock Hotel Panama Megapolis on May 29th.  Yinnela, who holds a degree in maritime business, stands 1.79 m tall and will represent the country in the Miss Supranational 2013 competition to be held in Minsk, Belarus, on September 6th.

The event was hosted by former Miss Panama and TV host Stefanie de Roux, with the participation of Nadege Herrera (5th runner-up in Miss World 2009) and Karina Pinilla (Miss Supranational 2010). Elissa Estrada, Miss Supranational Americas 2012 crowned the new titleholder.  Both crowns were designed by Panamanian artist Gustavo Carrera.

Yinnela will also wear a national costume designed by local artist Daniel Cortina. Congratulations!

Miss Universe Canada organization releases results

The 2013 Miss Universe Canada pageant took place on Saturday, May 25 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts in Toronto.  During the validation of the computerized scoring results (which occurs the following day), a typo was discovered in the top 5 entries, which significantly impacted the final results of the competition.  This is the first instance of this type of error in the 11 years that Beauties of Canada (BOC) has produced the Miss Universe Canada pageant.

This is an unfortunate circumstance where a human error was made, and in such a situation, as difficult as it is, it is only right to correct the error.  Therefore, the official results of Miss Universe Canada 2013 are as follows:
